WR Controls Group was originally established as Wirereglage AB in 1961. The company was acquired by Dawnsun WR Controls in 2001, marking the start of its expansion. WR Controls Estonia was founded in 2002, followed by the acquisition of Flexball Italiana in 2003. In 2006, a joint venture was established in Shanghai, further solidifying the company’s global presence.

WR Controls expanded into Mexico’s automotive sector in 2018 and also established engineering and sales offices in Germany, France, and the UK. Additionally, a North American Sales and Program Management Office was set up. Today, WR Controls supplies products to European, Asian, and NAFTA markets, employing over 1,250 people, including 25 in the Engineering and Technical Group.
